Full Text

In the Oswego Herald, a physician
calls on his debtors for payment in
the following humorous manner

SAYS doctor Gott,
"I'll tell you what
I'm call'd on not,
To pay my shot,
And may I rot,
If I do not;
But I cannot,
Unless 'tis got,
For jog and trot
From pot to pot,
So ev'ry jot,
That's due to Gott,
For Pill or Bottle,
Salve or Cot
All round the Ot-
segonian Plot;
Whether begot
Of ague or Scott,
Or from the Mot-
ley race of lor,
Sober or not,
Yankee or not;
Must soon be got
Into my pot;
Or else, I wot,
They'll smell it hot
Or they may rot
NATHANIEL GOTT."
