Full Text
The Hartford Review is unwarrantably severe upon Mr. Green; for, bad as he is politically, he was a stranger visiting that city, and so long as he behaved decently, entitled to common courtesy. The fact of his visiting an oyster cellar, is not within the legitimate pale of newspaper comment. There was too much of this slang, about the movements of private as well as public individuals, during the last election. Pray let us who condemned it then, avoid it now.
The Hartford Review is about to be published twice a week. This paper is conducted with much spirit and talent, though it sometimes wants a little "restraining grace."
