Four new teachers were appointed and one transfer was announced at the Monday night meeting of the county board of education in which R. E. Robertson was reelected president of the board and Virgil L. Flinn retained as superintendent of school for a new four-year term.
Appointment of Dr. C. A. Jackson as medical director for Negro school replacing Dr. C. F. Hopson was announced by the board. Re-appointment of Andrew H. Calloway, assistant superintendent of schools, was deferred until a later date, although the other five assistant superintendents were reappointed.
New teachers appointed were Eustace DuMetz and Kenneth Robinson, Garnet; William O. Brown, Boyd, and Juanita Brown, Wake Forest. Fred Aranha was transferred from Garnet to Carter G. Woodson.
