The Republicans of McDowell county held their County Convention in the court house in Marion on Saturday afternoon. C. M. Pool was made chairman of the convention and Delbert Curtis was elected secretary.

A majority of the precincts were represented.

The convention elected the following officers for the ensuing year: E. W. Parker, Jr., chairman of the County Executive committee, W. H. Hawkins, vice chairman, and Mrs. Pearl Hall Queen, co-chairman, Harry McCall, secretary and treasurer.

Other members of the Executive committee elected were W. R. Chambers, P. H. Mashburn, C. M. Pool, E. W. Parker, Delbert Curtis, W. H. Hawkins, W. G. Lavender, Arthur Lavender, Manley Ledford, J. O. Gordon, W. R. Stone, Roy Suttles, Avery Jamison, Robert Washburn, T. Wise Hall, James G. Hollifield, Charles A. McCall, Virgil Bradburn, Thermal Ross, C. Y. Banning and E. A. Beaman.

Regular delegates elected to the Republican State Convention to be held in Durham on March 18th, were as follows: William C. Chambers, C. M. Pool, Jack James, J. F. Wilkinson, C. D. Hawkins, Harry McCall, W. R. Chambers, Mrs. R. E. McCall, Mrs. C. R. Craig, Mrs. I. W. Saunders and Mrs. P. H. Mashburn.

Alternate delegates elected to the State Convention were: Charles Craig, Ed Rowe, M. G. Turner, Don Davis, Grayson Bailey, J. O. Gordon, R. W. Silvers, Roy Early, Sam Marlowe, J. W. Hogan and W. H. Swafford.

Regular delegates elected to the Congressional and other District Conventions were: Winslow Lavender, W. H. Hawkins, C. M. Pool, W. C. Fortune, Wise Hall, Thos. L. Klutz, L. J. Epley, J. M. Kanipe, W. R. Chambers, P. H. Mashburn, William C. Chambers.

Alternate delegates elected to the Congressional and other District Conventions were: Manley Ledford, Charles A. McCall, Grayson Craig, W. R. Stone, Van Hughes, Arthur Lavender, H. C. Worley, J. P. Walker, C. B. Harris, C. R. McCall and J. R. Gray.
