Celebrates
Hallowe'en

The Oakland Elementary School held its annual Hallowe'en Parade and Party on Thursday, October 31. The parade was formed at 1:00 P. M. Every room in the school was well represented in the well costumed children that made up the parade.

Prizes were awarded for the prettiest and funniest costumes in both the upper and lower grade groups. Each room selected a representative in each area and the final winners were selected from this group. The winners in the lower grade group were: Patty Winters, prettiest costume; Harold Campbell, funniest costume. In the upper grade group the winners were Delores Swartzentruber, prettiest costume; Lou Ellen Hardesty, funniest costume. Mrs. Ryan's room won the prize for having the highest percent of children in the room participating.

Following the parade each room held a Hallowe'en Party during which the children participated in appropriate games. At the end of a planned program of play activities refreshments were served in each room.
