Pifer Mountain.
We are having plenty rain but not much snow. The community seem to be enjoying good health, excepting bad cold.
The Pifer mountain school is moving along nicely. The school is not very well accommodated, having a bad and small house for the great number of scholars. Miss Eva Cornwell is teacher.
The literary at Pifer school house is interesting and entertaining. School takes great interest in the Society and both old and young attends. People come that were never known to come out before.
George McCartney was visiting Mr. Will Wolf, last Thursday and Friday. Uncle George is as jolly as ever.
Frank McDonald is mending very slowly, of rheumatism.
Mrs. Lizzie Wilmoth who was paralyzed last fall is some better at this writing; She is at her daughter's Mrs. R. F. Murphy.
John Poling, of Hambleton, is visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Poling.
Mrs Riley Phillips has returned from Porter where she was visiting her sick mother, Mrs. Bennett.
