Full Text

Primary Election In Napa City -- Contrary to all political propriety, the Democracy of Napa City permitted the Lecomptonites to vote at the primary election. However it amounted to nothing, as the Democracy wiped them out, two to one. The Lecompton organ at Napa closes a howl of disappointment by expressing the belief that a division of the party in that county is inevitable. When one hundred Lecomptonites cannot control two hundred Democrats, of course there must be a split, or the power of Congress invoked to bring the rebels to submission.
