Full Text
The official vote of the State being counted, Governor Irwin has issued his proclamation in accordance with law and declared who are elected members of the Constitutional Convention. They are divided as follows: Non-Partisans, 79; Workingmen, 51; Republicans, 11; Democrats, 9; Independents, 2; Total, 152. In the above classification we have counted Berry, of Siskiyou, and Wilson, of Tehama, as Democrats, because they were nominated and elected as such. Most of our exchanges err in counting these two men as Non-Partisans, although they may act with them. Had it not been for the 'at large' Delegation, the Workingmen would have had a plurality in the Convention. As it is the Non-Partisans have a clear majority which will probably be increased by nearly all the other Delegates elect except the Workingmen.
