FEARED BANKS, BURIED HIS MONEY: NOW IT'S GONE

Mrs. John Smith, wife of John Smith who was sent to jail last week for contempt of court because he did not pay back to the Associated Charities $439.50 advanced while he was helpless, after he had received a verdict for $10,000 damages from the Griffin Wheel company, said today the reason the money was not paid was that they had buried the money in the woods and that someone found it and dug it up.

Mrs. Smith declares they took $5,000 out of the bank last fall, paid the doctors and other expenses and then buried the rest but that someone found it and over $4,000, she thinks, must have been buried.
