Hon. Wm. Lawrence, of Guernsey.
We regret to learn that this gentleman, candidate for Senator in the Guernsey and Monroe Districts, met with so severe an accident a few days since, by being thrown from his buggy while en route to fill an appointment to speak, that, for a time, it was feared the accident would be attended with severe consequences.
In consequence of this, Mr. Lawrence has been unable to fill his appointments during the past week, but hopes are entertained that he will soon be able again to engage in the active duties of the campaign.
The gentleman who communicates these facts adds:
"Mr. Lawrence's late address to his constituents, published in the Guernsey Jeffersonian and the Woodsfield Spirit of Democracy is one of the best campaign papers of the day, and I wish it could be generally read."
We would thank our friend to send us a copy, as unaccountably the Jeffersonian is not received at this office, and we missed the copy of the Spirit of Democracy containing the address.
