Still In Offing
For Some Unexplained Reason
Local Work Has Been Delayed
—Another Promise To Start
Next Week.
Palmer St. Clair, in charge of the
FERA work in this county, advises
that all the projects in Tazewell
county are in process of being approved
with the exception of the
Tazewell water line. This latter project
is being held up, he says, because
of a lack of maps, profiles, blue
prints, estimates, etc. for the dam
at the head of the Town's water supply.
The engineer promises to prepare
such data as will be needed, but stated,
however, that his usual charge for
such work is $25.00 per day, which
would be waived in the local case.
He further complains that the town
is unable to furnish men capable of
completing the job, to which statement
exceptions have been taken.
The Town may need the new water
supply this spring. Members of the
city council interested in the project
are making every effort to get the
work started.
