"It is earnestly desired you would send me a certificate of my Baptism, in Spanish, as soon as possible, with the Spanish Consul's name on it, and attested by 7 or 8 witnesses. The sooner I receive this, the sooner my release will be effected."
In the first part of the letter, Capt. A. mentions having wrote, since his confinement, a number of letters home, none of which have ever come to hand.
