ALEXANDRIA, D. C.
TUESDAY MORNING, MARCH 21.
Nothing, in political warfare, can exceed the vigor of the blows dealt by the Globe, upon the Administration. They fall every one of them, and resound through the land. It shall not be our fault if they are not heard. There is such a freshness, a vivacity, a hearty good will, an honesty of purpose, a force of expression, and a homely, but clear and sensible air, about and in the anti-Tyler articles of the Globe, that they have become positive favorites of ours, and we welcome their appearance with actual pleasure. It is hardly, therefore, now, an ironical expression to call the Globe "a dear friend and ally"—if the political friendship and party alliance be confined strictly and solely to the exposure by the Globe of the malpractices, corruptions, and abuses of the Tyler administration. As for its loco foco heresies, we have not a word of defense to offer. We separate and diverge as soon as ever the Globe drops Mr. Tyler.
