We this day complete our Legislative reports, in order to do which we omit many interesting articles contained in the city papers of the day. In a paragraph from the Montpelier Watchman, our readers will find a statement that cannot but yield pleasure. The harmonious progress and termination of the proceedings of the General Assembly afford us cause to hope that their exertions will be productive of great benefit to the State. Among other important acts we find that they have passed an act for the creation of a permanent School fund, to be raised by the taxes on Banks and Insurance Companies; an act appropriating $3,000 dollars for three years for the education of the indigent deaf and dumb; incorporating two Canal Companies; providing for the appointment of two Canal Commissioners, and making appropriations for purposes relating to internal improvement, and an act incorporating a Company for the improvement of the navigation of Connecticut River. We have not room to remark on these important subjects in this number, and shall defer it until our next.—Sentinel.
