What is Congress doing ?

Is a question daily asked, to no purpose-- for neither letters nor papers from Washington afford the means of solving this question correctly. If we were to hazard an opinion we should say that so far as the money raised by the loan will enable them, they are receiving their 6 and 8 dollars per day :-- This is much better business than any in which they could engage at home, particularly in these hard times.--The "pigeon flutterer" says there is nothing like self-- he says he knows it by himself We understand he has gone back to share the remainder of the spoil with his comrades.
