Segregated School In N. J. Closes
Trenton, N. J., Jan. 4. -- The state of New Jersey Friday ordered the closing of the all-Negro State Manual Training and Industrial School for Youths at Bordentown because it was unable to induce white students to enroll at the institution.
Gov. Robert B. Mayner made the announcement on behalf of the State Board of Education. The board declared that the failure of white students to enroll there makes the school a violation of the spirit of the constitutional provision against segregation.
