A Washington dispatch says the House Private Land Claims Committee have voted to recommend the passage of a bill appropriating $50,000 for the relief of General John Sutter, in consideration of his services to early California immigrants, his losses of personal property for want of legal protection, and his equities in the Sobrante grant, confirmed by a lower tribunal, but denied by the United States Supreme Court-this sum to be in full satisfaction for his claims of lien lands and all other claims, for losses or services.
