GAME VIOLATION IS
QUICKLY DETECTED

PHOENIX, July 25.--Anticipating the legal opening of the deer season in Arizona this fall by two months cost O. O. Barney, of Vail, more than $50. This is the first violation of the game laws of this state in regard to deer that has been detected for some time.

Barney, returning from the Coronado National forest, was discovered by Forest Rangers F. A. Staggs and John B. Garland on July 10 with the carcass of a buck deer in his possession.

Taken before the justice of the peace at Pantano, Barney pleaded guilty and was fined $50 and costs, which he paid. A complete report of the affair was received yesterday by Game Warden Willard from Inspector Paul P. Pitchlynn.
