Full Text

A Letter of a late date from London, says,
"I give you joy on the success of your arms in the Southern quarter; it is with pleasure I behold the nation with down cast eyes even at the name of Cornwallis, and I can further inform you, that the Lord Mayor and City Aldermen are at most in actual rebellion with the King and Parliament, and insist upon their withdrawing the troops from America immediately, or they will not grant any further supplies. That General Burgoyne is turned a staunch friend to the American cause, and publicly declared in the House of Commons, that he knew, by experience (a truth which no one in his right mind will offer to contradict) it to be impossible to gain one inch of ground in North America."
