One of the best towns in North Carolina, Statesville has for years shown a higher and juster appreciation of the value of a first-class newspaper than any other town in the State. The industrial edition of the Landmark, issued under the auspices of the Statesville Chamber of Commerce, is the crowning act of its manifest appreciation of printer's ink. The paper has 24 pages, is handsomely illustrated, and neatly printed from new type, and is chock full of facts and figures of value.
"Give 'em facts, and nothing but facts" was the constant admonition of Thomas Gradgrind. This advice has been followed literally. With great care all the statements and figures have been compiled, and every effort has been made to make this special Trade Edition absolutely accurate and reliable. There is no blow in it nor bluster. It is a straight-forward and clear presentation of Statesville's advantages, and will favorably impress all into whose hands it comes. 11,000 copies have been issued.
The Chronicle congratulates the people of Statesville upon their wise expenditures, and congratulates Editor Saldwell upon the excellent judgment, good taste, and perfect execution that has marked his work.
