It was our privilege today to be on the receiving end of one of the most succinct and clever summaries of political activities in Alaska. Written in baseball lingo, an anonymous contributor says:
"In the Alaska league, Hellenthal was put out, Gruening to Ickes to Biddle.
Tony Dimond scored on the play while Bob Bartlett slid in safe at second.
"Brownell was caught between bases, Spears was out on a long foul to Pippel in right field and Coffey made it three straight with a foul and two wild swings for a strike out.
"For your score card: Credit Biddle with a put out, Gruening and Ickes with an assist. Credit Hellenthal with a sacrifice. Bartlett with a stolen base, Dimond with an unearned run."
We might add that over in the press box the experts are arguing whether credit for the putout goes to Biddle or Ickes. Meanwhile, Drager's at bat, trying for a home run, if he can get Rivers and McCain put on the bench.--(Anchorage Times).
