The day before Capt. Stanton sailed, there was a report, from St. Thomas's in the east part of the island, that the Negroes in those parts had broke out, but 'twas not confirmed: Capt. Stanton sailed the 12th of June, in order to join the grand fleet to come under convoy, with several Vessels, but running foul of Capt. Stanney's Ship in the Night, he received such Damage he was obliged to put to Sea, not being able to get round: He imagines Capt. Stanney's Ship received Damage also, having heard two Guns fire after he left her. The Fleet was to sail the 17th of June.
