Public Lands.—We recommend to our readers, the perusal of the numbers, of which we have this day commenced the publication, on the origin of the Public Lands. The future numbers are to contain an examination of the principles of Mr. Clay's Bill, for their distribution among the several States. As this subject has not been generally understood, we trust these numbers, as they will be short, and will embrace a condensed view of the subject in all its general bearings, will not be uninteresting to our readers.
