Our sister city on Monday did the job for Douglas Democracy, and Buchanan Democracy, and every thing that wears the Democratic stripe and label. The fight was straight. Nominations were made by each party, as party nominations. And the result was, the election of Benenson, the Republican candidate for Mayor, by a majority of between 400 and 500! On the rest of the ticket majorities range from 200 to 700.-- Only one Democratic Alderman was elected to represent the sentiments of an expiring party.
We think we can afford a chicken on that.
HURRAH FOR QUINCY!
