Full Text

The Editor of the AURORA has offered a considerable reward for the discovery of the person or persons supposed to have been engaged in "suppressing" the package of that paper of the 31st ultimo, which was directed to Washington. The daily Aurora of the 31st reached the city by the Northern mail on Saturday the 17th, inst. without cover, as though the envelope had rubbed or been torn off. The packet of the country paper arrived on Thursday, by the Fredericktown mail. This information is given for the benefit of all concerned. Such accidents as packages breaking loose or being missent, are frequent, in regard to our paper at least, even where the greatest attention is paid by our packers to their due transmission. The Aurora is, in general, received with great regularity. If the detention of the Aurora of the 31st, is chargeable to any thing but accident, we sincerely hope the criminal may be detected.
