EDITOR, POST-PRESS.
DEAR SIR:
Seeing your immigration story prompts asking: Why does the United States lag behind other progressive nations as to admission of aliens, also deportation of alien criminals, social inadequates?
It is notorious that, for decades, we built up gangster groups by permitting ourselves to be the dumping ground for overseas' refuse. In one eastern European state, the writer, last summer, found government in difficulty trying to finance relief for its unemployables at even 33 cents weekly each. The question daily was asked: Can we not somehow ship them to rich America? Many of these, filtering over our borders remain because we have not the registration-of-aliens every other modern state has.
Remember, too, these unemployables breed like rabbits.
Very sincerely,
C. M. GOETHE
