It is good for the interested public to be well informed and well versed on the activities and organization of George Washington Branch, YMCA. We wish to state here in a few simple and well chosen words what the George Washington Carver Branch YMCA is going for the youth of the community.

The Carver YMCA is helping boys grow up to become citizens with useful, satisfying lives. We are not interested in rushing boys through childhood as tho it were something to be ended. Rather, the YMCA sees youth as the "father of the man" to be. We believe it is important to provide opportunities and leadership so youth can develop the friendships the skills, the attitudes, and the ideals upon which the useful, satisfying life depends.

The YMCA is interested in more than keeping boys off the street. We are interested in keeping them busy around worthwhile purposes so that they can live in their home school, and community as partners in making those communities better.

Growing up has never been easy Today is certainly no exception We believe in helping boys with this task.

We sometimes express our YMCA goals in this way, The YMCA seeks to provide opportunities for boys and youth:

1 To become healthy, well-balanced, responsible citizens.

2 To learn how to live together as members of our democratic society and work unitedly for the common good.

3 To grow in their understanding and love of God and their loyalty to Jesus Christ.

The YMCA in Its efforts to do the above mentioned things does good community relations program which would include service for our young men and adults as
