A bill has passed the House of Representatives of the United States for the reduction of the Public Debt, on principles recommended, by Mr. Hamilton, late Secretary of the Treasury ; which, without burdening the people with additional Taxes, will inevitably discharge the Public Debt in a few years. The birth of this excellent system, and the birth of our worthy President can never be forgotten, by the people of the United States; the former will relieve them from the weight of a public debt— and the latter gave them a character who has been principally instrumental in relieving them from political oppression. Feb. 23, 1795.
