On the authority of Georgia papers, where it had been positively asserted without contradiction, we announced, in yesterday's impression of the daily paper, the appointment of WM. W. Bibb, of Georgia, to be Governor of the Alabama territory, which office, it has been further stated in those prints, he had agreed to accept. We now learn, that this annunciation, as well of the appointment to, as of the acceptance of, the office, was premature; and hasten to repair our inadvertent error by this statement.--[Ib.
