Napoleon, Emperor of France and King of Italy, when at Milan in December last, created 15 new dignitaries, 50 commanders and 300 knights of the iron crown. He also published a fourth constitutional statute for the kingdom of Italy; by which he adopts Eugene Beauharnais, his step-son, as his own son, by the name of Eugene Napoleon. This statute declares Eugene the successor to the crown of Italy, which is to be hereditary in his male descendants. The statute provides, that neither Eugene nor his descendants shall, from this adoption, ever raise any pretensions to the throne of France.
