LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 24.—W. H. Childs was arrested here Friday, charged with forgery. Childs purchased a suit of clothes from a merchant and tendered in payment a check for $24 on the Merchants' national bank of Harrodsburg. The check was made payable to Horace Deboe and signed by J. S. Abram. Three other checks were found on Childs' person, one drawn on the Citizens' national bank, of Danville, for $20, payable to Hyram Dunham and signed by Ellis Malary. Another was on the Merchants' national bank, of Harrodsburg, for $15, payable to Harry Dean and signed by H. L. Baker. The other was on the National Bank of Lancaster, for $6, made payable to Harry Dean, and signed by F. C. Nappier. He also had a number of blank checks with him.
