He referred in scathing terms to the prohibitory law, and spoke of how he and Hon. J. H. Senter twenty-two years ago, as members of a Democratic committee on resolutions in a convention in this city, attempted and succeeded in introducing a local option-license plank in the platform. Twelve years ago he prophesied at a convention in Franklin county the downfall of prohibition and the repeal of the prohibitory law and cited some of his political coups in Franklin county campaigns in the past when he was a candidate for State's attorney. The bulk of his remarks were identical with those made at Brattleboro last week already summarized in the Journal. It was nearly eleven o'clock when Mr. McGettrick finished speaking. He had barely thanked his audience for their attention when they made a rush for the doors and the rally meeting was over, save for those who wished to shake hands with Mr. McGettrick.
