Married to Miss Nana Perry in 1900 at Perry, New York, Says Complaint-Ground, Abandonment.
A suit for divorce which was started in Wake Superior Court yesterday by J. C. L. Harris, Esq., attorney for Mrs. Nana Sasser v. W. H. Sasser will bring to many Raleigh people the first news of the marriage four years ago of a young couple of this city.
The plaintiff is a daughter of Mr. E. B. Perry and well known in Raleigh and the defendant is a widely known and popular young man, formerly of Raleigh but now of Richmond, Va., and a son of the late Phil Sasser.
The complaint which was filed yesterday alleges that the plaintiff was married to the defendant in 1900 in the town of Perry, State of New York; "that about two weeks after the plaintiff and defendant were married to each other the defendant unlawfully, wilfully and without cause did abandon the plaintiff by separating himself from the plaintiff and failing to provide any means of support for her and her child and has lived separate and apart from her ever since said abandonment."
The complaint further alleges that the plaintiff has been a resident of North Carolina for five years and that a girl child was born of her union with the defendant.
The plaintiff prays an absolute divorce and the custody of the child.
