Full Text

A Sheridan lawyer contends that a city ordinance prohibiting women from frequenting saloons is not an ordinance that will stand. He holds that a woman may own and run a saloon and that under such conditions she could not be prevented from occupying and using her own property. Following up this line of reasoning he argues that if she could go and come from her own property other women could do likewise, hence the view that the ordinance denying them this privilege is not in accord with our state constitution. It will be threshed out in the courts.
