THE FIRE RECORD
Nine or Ten Business Houses in Texarkana Destroyed.

Little Rock, Ark., July 16.—The Democrat's Texarkana special says: "About 4 o'clock this morning a fire broke out in McLean's two-story frame, on the south side of Broad street, between Vine and Elm. The fire soon spread east and west, consuming nine or ten business houses. C. E. Hayden & Co., Charles Wilkinson, Mrs. Lizzie O'Donnell, N. McLean, John Nix, O. L. Thompson and Turner & Co. are heavy losers. The entire half of the block was consumed, except M. Hecht's. The losses are variously estimated at from $25,000 to $30,000."
