THE COUNTY CONVENTION

Republicans of This County Nominate a Very Strong Ticket---108 Delegates Were in Attendance

The Republican County Convention convened at the opera house in this city on Tuesday afternoon under the most favorable auspices. It was a representative body of one hundred and eight delegates from all parts of the county and each precinct was represented by a full delegation.

Chairman Youngberg of the County Central Committee called the convention to order and Secretary Albert Matson read the call. Thos. Jackson was elected temporary chairman without opposition and G. N. Parsons of Elkton, secretary. When the permanent organization was perfected the convention added two more secretaries, Messrs. Tennant of Brookings and Denhart of White.

The committee on credentials reported the following delegates entitled to seats in the convention:

The temporary organization being made permanent Clyde Wilcox, Nels Larson, A. H. Wheaton and Charles Lynch were appointed tellers.

Hon. John C. Jenkins of Brookings, having no opposition, was unanimously chosen for state senator, and the ballot taken on representatives resulted in the election of Allen Matteson of Laketon, Severt Simonson of Lake Sinai, and Edward Heffernan of
