That interesting paper, The West Virginia Argus, edited and published at Kingwood by one of West Virginia's newspaper wits, J. Slidell Brown, has been enlarged from a seven to an eight column folio. The Argus is a profitable newspaper property, and the Sentinel heartily congratulates its owner and editor on the big share he is getting of these prosperous McKinley times. The Argus recently put in an entire new printing outfit and the paper has as neat an appearance now as any paper in the state.
We appreciate Bro. Holt's kind words of praise and encouragement as given in the above clipping from the Grafton Sentinel, but the "McKinley prosperity" he speaks of has not struck us yet, as we are still considerably in debt for the above improvement, and added much more to our plant under the last Democratic administration, in the way of a handsome new two-story building with basement and a home for THE Argus which it never had before, than we have been able to so far since.
