Devils Lake Inter-Ocean: During the month of November, at the register of deeds' office in this city, over 750 chattel mortgages were released and one day this week 500 were discharged. Besides these "it may be safe to state that several hundred were discharged by the mortgagees on the books themselves. The number stated above are known to have been satisfied because that many discharges were filed with the officer stated.
Another noticeable fact is that during the fall few if any chattel mortgages were renewed. This shows where thousands of dollars of money of the farmer has gone this fall.
