FROM CARTHAGENA—We are informed by Capt. Hall of the schooner Horatio, arrived yesterday afternoon from Carthagena, that the troops which had been at Arrigon to quell the insurrection of Gen. Cordova, had returned, and the intelligence of the defeat and death of Gen. C. was therefore confirmed. The country was in a quiet state, and Gen. Bolivar was daily expected at Bogota. Congress will convene in January, and is to form a constitution for the country, when it is generally believed that peace and good order will be established throughout Colombia. Gen. Harrison still remained at Carthagena, waiting the arrival of the Naichez. We learn that the mail bag from Congress arrived at Carthagena the day before the Horatio sailed.—New York Gazette.
