Negroes Take Decided Stand Against Crime.

At the close of a funeral at the negro Baptist church at Holly Grove, Thursday, the negroes present unanimously passed a resolution condemning the negro who recently committed an assault on a white woman in Brinkley, and took up a collection to add to the reward being offered for the man's apprehension and conviction. The resolution was introduced by Rev. W. T. Pope of Forrest City. More than 300 negro men and women voted for it. The money raised by the collection was turned over to Mayor W. D. Kerr to be sent by him to the mayor at Brinkley.
