The strawberry and ice cream festival given by the ladies of the Baptist church last night and yesterday was a success financially and otherwise. The ladies sold all their berries and cream by ten o'clock last night, and people were turned away on account of having nothing to feed them on. About $70 were taken in by the ladies, which is no small amount for a festival of the kind. At this late date the LEAF-CHRONICLE wants to return thanks to the young ladies for several dishes of berries, cream and cakes. They were delicious and were enjoyed by the members of the staff.
