Extract of a letter to the Editors dated
Camp near Eufaula, Oct. 31. 1815.
" As the people of Georgia may feel
an interest in knowing what progress is
made in running the boundary line, and
particularly I suppose, that part of it
which lies within the limits of Georgia
I have thought proper to communicate
to you for their information, through
the medium of your paper, that the
Commissioners have agreed to leave
this part of the line viz.-between Ta-
lapoosie and Chattahoochie unfinished
for the present, and go on from this to
the Georgia line immediately. This
arrangement was thought expedient, in
order to avail ourselves of the present
dry season to run that part of the coun-
try, which in the winter season, in con-
sequence of the many creeks, flats and
swamps, is almost impassable, especi-
ally for waggons. The Georgia line
will consequently be finished, in all
probability in 25 or 30 days, which will
be in good time for the approaching
session of the Legislature of Georgia, to
take into consideration the manner of
disposing of so much of the late cession
of land as falls within their jurisdiction.
Of this circumstance, however, the Exe-
cutive will no doubt be officially inform-
ed in due time."-Georgia Argus.
