Mr. Philip Hamman who lives about 8 miles above the Iron works, on Slate creek, gave us the following information:—

That on Tuesday last, two Shawanee Indians, (one with long beard) came to his plantation in his absence, and cut the clothes off a negro woman who was out at work, killed one hog and stabbed another, and threatened his life, saying " We know the c-d son of a b-:; it was he that carried the news from Point Pleasant to Donnell's fort, at Green Brier, & got 36 of us killed, & we'll have his scalp before the Summer is out."
