Alice Robertson—Lame Duck

Former Congresswoman Miss Alice Robertson has been selected as the charter member of the women's division of the ancient and honorable political order of lame ducks. In that capacity she will waddle as a welfare worker in the Veteran's Bureau at Washington. President Harding issued an executive order permitting the appointment of Miss Robertson without submission to the usual civil service examination, thereby clearly designating and rubber-stamping her as the first of her sex to belong to this haven of refuge for politicians whom the voters at home refuse to continue in office.
