The Memphis Appeal which before the settlement of the state debt at 100-3 was directly opposed to that measure, now has the good sense and judgement to regard it as a finality, and to support it as calculated to bring peace and prosperity to the state. In speaking of the movement set on foot by Savage and others to enjoin the funding board from discharging its duties, it says:

A repudiating ring in Nashville have employed a number of able lawyers for the purpose of enjoining the funding board from funding the state debt under the 100-3 law, because of the insufficiency of the caption and the unconstitutionality of the act. It is evident that we are to have trouble if the courts shall open the smallest gap for the repudiating democrats who, for years, have been trying to disgrace and degrade the state, and break up the democratic party.
