American Designed Planes Used by Reds in Bombing

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Jan. 16. (UP)—The newspaper National Tidende reported in a dispatch from Viipuri (Viborg), Finland, today that 21 Douglas planes dropped scores of 250-kilogram bombs on the city yesterday.

(Russia manufactures American designed planes by special license. Douglas is a widely known American plane.)

The newspaper's correspondent said the air alarm lasted three hours and the city was afire at five points. The first bombs, he said, fell in the most densely populated sections of the city and killed many persons.

A few moments after the first raid, the planes returned and attacked the center of the city, killing several.
