REVIVAL MEETINGS OPEN AT EVANGELICAL CHURCH
Rev. Kerlin and His Party Made Fine Impression Yesterday-Coming Meetings Announced.
The Kerlin Evangelistic Party made a fine impression upon the two large congregations that greeted them Sunday. Mr. Kerlin will continue this campaign for three weeks.
At the morning service the evangelist used for his text Isaiah 33:22. He spoke from the words, Jesus as Judge-Law Giver, King and Saviour, or Some Neglected Aspects of Christ's Relation to Us. He said in part: We shall all stand before the Judgment seat of Christ, the Judgment Day is coming. If there is one truth clear sun clear, in the Bible it is that all judgment is committed to the Son.
Why do we forget this. the Bible tells us why: "Because judgment against an evil work is not 'executed speedily. the heart of men is fully set to do evil." "The wages of sin are not paid every Saturday night."
Jesus Christ is our King, how many people have forgotten that Jesus is to be King over them, they sing, Crown Him Lord of all; and Make Jesus King. But do they really mean it? Is Jesus genuinely King of your life, or is He only a courtesy king? There must be an inward change, a yielding of the heart to His dominion.
Jesus Christ is our Saviour, He will save us, all the divine power is summed up in the tremendous purpose of God for the salvation of men. He will save us. But to have salvation you must say good-bye to sin, and go out of the sin business.
Sunday night the evangelist spoke on: "Getting up with the Facts". He used for his text, "And when they were awake they saw His glory." The speaker said it was so easy to fall into a state of indifference, lethargy and inaction. We need to be aroused, this is true in the social and political realm, but especially true in spiritual things, the disciples were blind to the glory of the Lord until they were fully awake. People miss so much in life, due to the fact that they are half asleep.

forceful appeal for a genuine spiritual awakening in Berne. Mr. Kerlin is a rapid fire speaker, but he speaks very clear and distinctly. He has an inexhaustible vocabulary and seems to know how to use to good advantage everything he has ever read, seen or heard. He preaches a positive Gospel.
The singing conducted by Rev. Reep is deeply devotional, thoroughly preparatory to the sermon. Reep is a real song leader indeed.
The following are some of the subjects that will be discussed during the first week of the campaign: "The Greatest Work in the World:" "The High Calling of God:" "Personal Religion Reduced to Simplest Terms."
Four minute preludes, preceding the sermon each evening this week: "Fillers in the Noisy:" "Doodle Christians:" "Old Cussers and Fussers:" "A Message to Tightwads:" "Flyers, Flappers and Floppers."
Two children's meetings will be conducted this week, Wednesday and Friday immediately after school closes.
Mrs. Kerlin will have charge of the children's meetings. On next Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock a men's meeting will be conducted by the Evangelist in the Evangelical church and at the same time a meeting for women in the Missionary church. Mrs. Kerlin will have charge and be the speaker at the meeting for women.
