SCOUTS HONORED
Scout Troop 57 received its charter for 1949 at the assembly February 1, and 16 beginners received their Tenderfoot membership cards. They were Artusse Fields, Amon Harjo, Arthur Powell, Nelson Johnson, Joseph Lowe, Roger Peters, Billy Harjo, Page Clark, James Devine, Charles Thomas, Wilbur Bridges, Louis Hale, Delano Franklin, Scott Chadwick, Joe July and Phillip Pappan.
Mr. Ralph Graber, chairman of Scout advancement in the Lawrence area, was present to award second class merit badges to Joe Whitebird in art;
Cecil Rouillard, printing and photography; James Norris, blacksmithing.
Other second class Scouts are Andrew Battese, Curtis Simmer, Russell Lazore and Maurice Wensman.
The Haskell Scouting committee consists of Supt. Solon G. Ayers, institutional representative; Principal W. Keith Kelley, chairman of advancement; Mr. L. Madison Coombs; Mr. George Smith; Mr. Franklin Gritts.
Mr. Jack Culberson is Scoutmaster.
Alton Nordwall is president of the H-Club. Alton is a Chippewa from Red Lake, Minn.
