A letter was received by the boat, written by a gentleman in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, to his friend in this city, stating that Pennsylvania had gone for Mr Van Buren, owing to his strong majorities in the Northern part of the State.
We do not know how to confide in this statement, as we cannot suppose it probable that the whole vote could be known in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, or that the writer could have learned the result in 16 counties more than was known to the passengers in the Tribune. We give, however, all the rumors without deciding upon their accuracy.
