Fortune Awaiting a Lost Boy.

New York, Feb. 8.—Four years ago William H. Purdy, ten years old, ran away from his home in this city. A year after he wrote from Buffalo to his father saying that he was about to ship on the lake steamer City of Chicago, and that he was quite able to take care of himself so that his father need not worry. Saturday his father called at police headquarters to ask the help of the police in looking up his son. He said that he had removed to Nebraska since William ran away. Not long ago a lot of property valued at $2,500,000 was left by a maternal relative of the boy. It was found that William, who, if alive, is now fourteen years of age, is one of the heirs to the estate. His presence is therefore much desired.
